The Creative minds over at Art Lebedev have recently thought of a new concept, cardboard memory sticks. The design team are calling this product "Fleshkus" and they will be supplied on sheets of cardboard. As the user needs one they simply tear the new memory stick off the sheet of card and easily write a description of the memory sticks contents on the stick itself.
In my opinion this would be perfect for class type situations where a teacher needs to provide a documentary etc to the class but its to large for email, the teacher can just tear a bunch of these sticks off and hand them out to the class. I am guessing that by the time these become a reality they will be so cheap it won't matter if they are disposed of once you are finished with them. Do you think this product could work?
seems kind of a waste. followed
ReplyDeleteThis is a god awful idea, this would produce Soo much unnecessary waste. and with the silicone circuits they are not recyclable either :-/
ReplyDeleteI kinda like the idea XD
ReplyDeleteBut someone else could easiliy write something else on the USB. But its fun :D
there's no reason for them to be disposable... and that tech isn't that far in the future, even today there are USB memory sticks that are smaller and more compressed, there is no telling how many more innovations there will be...
ReplyDeleteThats the stupidest idea ive ever heard.
ReplyDeleteCreative, but kind of wasteful. I remember the days when USB's used to be like $100 for 128mbs. Oh, how we've come so far.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea, but not at this point when they're still slightly expensive.
ReplyDeleteI hate that these are just a concept. They need to produce these.
ReplyDeleteIt still seems like a bit of a waste, especially when you have services like Dropbox available.
ReplyDeleteI agree about it being extremely wasteful. Maybe if there were alternative ways for it to still work other than standard circuitry and electronics, otherwise it would be wasting sooo much. =/
ReplyDeleteWhat WOULD be cool is if the information needed could be printed out on some sort of complex barcode, and you could hand those out. THAT would be pretty cool, and nowhere near as wasteful.
It's a good concept, however I agree that it is very wasteful.
ReplyDeleteGood concept, but would be horrible for the environment. Undecided on if I think it would be a good idea
ReplyDeletemore shit is wasted all the time.. I don't see this as a HUGE waste.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's being marketed as a "use it and toss it" deal, just an easy to use and distribute and store thing.
are these things going to be one time write I wonder? I think traditionally flash drives have had like a million or so read/writes before it dying out? could be wrong though.
either way pretty interesting idea.
I like the concept, kind of a waste though...
ReplyDeleteSeems like an interesting idea.
ReplyDeleteLiked their keyboards better :)

hey gatis, thanks for the support, if you know how to change my archive so it looks normal please tell me!!! haha, i have been trying by moving it to every possible position in my blog but it just doesn't want to work
ReplyDeleteI reckon though this will be the future! No more CDs!
ReplyDeleteI like it--the innovation part, but we have to find out a way to make it more responsible... Perhaps have a place to throw them away with some incentive for us... Otherwise they might become like cigarette butts, all over the road! Oh, noes! I like your blog and will be following, thanks for sharing interesting things.

soon everything we consume will be organic so we can throw it all away :)
ReplyDeleteDisposable anything is a bad idea. It destroys my mind to see my dad's girlfriend serve food on disposable plates every single night.
ReplyDeleteIn a house of 11 people, no one can bother to wash some dishes?
Cute design. I love gadgets!
ReplyDeleteeven though its a waste, its still very cool!
ReplyDeleteThis is quite possibly one of the coolest things I've read..
